Road Trips In An EV
The "Great American Road Trip" has been around almost as long as the automobile itself and there's no reason that this tradition can't continue with EVs. Charging stations are appearing in greater numbers all over the country: in small-town America, the big city, and right off the highway. This helps boost the viability of taking a long drive, let alone a road trip. As charging networks expand, opportunities increase and fewer destinations will be out of reach. Simply use your phone to locate charging stations along your route and take the "driving range stress" out of your trip. EV charging stations will likely be located at or near restaurants, enabling you to charge up at the same time your car does. They may also be located in parts of town you might not otherwise see and lead you to some unexpected surprises and add some extra color to your journey. At the end of the day, planning for a road trip in an EV is almost identical to planning one in a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. The only real difference is where you get more "fuel" for your vehicle. In the coming years, this will be even easier than it is now and you won't even need to think twice about it.
