EV Auto Service & Maintenance
Electric vehicles are different from fossil-fuel vehicles in numerous ways. The switch to an electric motor removes the needs for a lot of the mechanical parts we associate with cars, trucks, and SUVs. Some of the obvious omissions include motor oil and the oil filter, fuel pump, and complicated multi-gear transmissions. In many, if not most cases, electric vehicles were designed to be a lot simpler to maintain than the automobiles of the past. While internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles have advanced a lot since they were first produced over 100 years ago, they are still designed around some of those same ideas and are complex machines as a result. They simply didn't have the technology to design a vehicle that had fewer parts. This is where EVs break with the past. We have the technology now to make simpler machines. Both types of vehicles have engines, but EV motors have significantly simpler mechanically. The same goes for transmissions and other systems. As a result, there is less to maintain. Because EVs are still new to the auto industry, we recommend that you follow the scheduled maintenance plan for your vehicle to help keep it running as best it can. We want you to enjoy owning and driving your electric vehicle. Let our team keep it running like new for you!
